New Child Safety Education Video

The headlines involving child-related safety issues are startling… "12 Year-Old Abducted"… "Four Children Die In Home Fire"… "3-Year Old Drowns in Bathtub."

"Spend a Minute on Safety" is a 30-minute video developed specifically to address many of the safety issues facing caregivers and parents of young children.

Written By A Children's
      Safety Educator

"Spend a Minute on Safety" was written by Kate Soucheray, a mother, educator and author of the children's safety book "I Am Safe." The program utilizes an on-screen narrator with children and adults demonstrating practical pointers for an easy-to-understand presentation. Some of the topics covered include fire, water and electrical safety; when and how to utilize 911; playground safety; auto and bicycle safety; and preventing accidents such as poisoning, suffocation, choking and falls.

Wetterling Foundation Review

Patty Wetterling of the Jacob Wetterling Foundation reviewed "Spend a Minute on Safety" and offered these comments: "This video is solid information every parent should think about, presented in an inviting, straight-forward manner. I think this video should be required viewing for new parents, babysitters, and all caretakers of children… think of the accidents the awareness could prevent."
